Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using https://positivepsychology.institute and any related websites, course platforms, learning portals, communities, or services operated by Positive Psychology Institute, a division of Unbound Education, Inc., a Public Benefit Corporation (“Positive Psychology Institute,” “PPI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the Site, including any content, courses, trainings, certificate programs, practice activities, learning materials, videos, audio recordings, assessments, downloads, communities, products, services, events, or other offerings made available through the Site.
By accessing, browsing, purchasing from, enrolling in, or otherwise using the Site or any PPI offering, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Site or enroll in our offerings.
Educational Purpose
Positive Psychology Institute provides educational and professional-development programs in positive psychology, coaching, applied psychology, human flourishing, well-being, ethics, communication, professional practice, and related areas.
Our programs, courses, content, and materials are provided for educational purposes only. They are not medical, psychological, psychiatric, legal, financial, clinical, or other licensed professional advice.
Nothing on the Site or in any course, training, practice activity, live session, or community should be interpreted as creating a therapist-client, physician-patient, attorney-client, supervisory, fiduciary, credentialing, or other licensed professional relationship.
You are solely responsible for determining how to apply any information, tools, frameworks, assessments, or practices within the scope of your own education, training, licensure, certification, professional role, jurisdiction, and ethical obligations.
Participation in or completion of any PPI program does not, by itself, authorize you to practice psychotherapy, counseling, psychology, medicine, social work, coaching, consulting, or any other regulated profession where licensure, certification, registration, supervision, or other legal authorization is required.
CCE, BCC, RCTP, and Credentialing Disclosures
Some PPI programs may be designed to support coach training, professional development, continuing education, or preparation related to third-party credentials, including the Board Certified Coach credential administered by the Center for Credentialing & Education.
CCE has sole discretion and authority to determine whether a provider or course satisfies CCE policy, agreement, and credential-eligibility requirements. PPI does not control CCE’s credentialing, eligibility, audit, approval, disciplinary, or recognition decisions.
Unless expressly stated in writing on a specific course page and supported by current written authorization from CCE, no PPI program, course, certificate, training, or offering should be understood as CCE-approved, BCC-approved, NBCC-approved, ICF-approved, accredited, endorsed, sponsored, or guaranteed to satisfy any credentialing, certification, licensure, examination, or continuing education requirement.
If PPI is approved by CCE as a Registered Credential Training Provider for a specific credential or course, only those courses expressly identified as qualifying for CCE credit should be treated as CCE-qualified courses. Courses that qualify for CCE credit will be clearly identified.
For any CCE-qualified course, PPI will use only the CCE approval statement, provider number, logo, and related language authorized by CCE. PPI will not represent that CCE endorses or supports any specific course, course content, instructor, provider, methodology, business model, philosophy, or professional outcome.
Credentialing requirements may change at any time and may vary depending on your education, degree, licensure, experience, jurisdiction, prior training, application timing, and credentialing pathway. You are solely responsible for reviewing and confirming current requirements with CCE, BCC, NBCC, ICF, licensing boards, employers, professional associations, or other credentialing bodies before enrolling in, relying on, or submitting any PPI program for credit, eligibility, continuing education, or credentialing purposes.
PPI does not guarantee that any program will qualify you for, satisfy requirements for, or result in the award of any license, certification, credential, designation, exam approval, continuing education credit, employment opportunity, professional status, income, client result, or business outcome.
Course Completion, Assessments, and Certificates
Some PPI courses may require attendance, participation, completion of learning materials, submission of assignments, completion of a trainee evaluation, completion of a post-test or assessment, or other course-completion requirements.
Where applicable, PPI may issue certificates of completion, attendance, participation, or training. A certificate of completion indicates only that the participant satisfied PPI’s completion criteria for that specific course or program.
A PPI certificate is not a license, government authorization, professional credential, CCE credential, BCC credential, board certification, or guarantee of eligibility for any third-party certification, examination, continuing education credit, employment opportunity, or professional designation unless expressly stated in writing and supported by current approval from the applicable authority.
PPI may withhold certificates or completion documentation if a participant has not met attendance, participation, assessment, payment, conduct, trainee evaluation, or other course completion requirements.
ADA and Disability Accommodations
PPI is committed to providing access to its programs in a manner consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act and other applicable federal, state, and local disability laws.
Participants who need reasonable accommodations for a course, assessment, live session, virtual program, learning platform, or other PPI offering should contact us at info(AT)positivepsychology.institute as early as possible and preferably before the course begins.
Accommodation requests should identify the requested accommodation and the course or program involved. We may request reasonable documentation where permitted by law. PPI will review requests in good faith and provide reasonable and appropriate accommodations where required by applicable law.
Non-Discrimination
PPI does not discriminate with respect to its services, courses, programs, or activities on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, marital status, veteran status, organizational membership, or any other status protected by applicable law.
PPI does not require or encourage participants to accept or support any particular political or religious beliefs, principles, or creeds.
Participant Conduct
PPI is committed to a respectful, ethical, inclusive, and productive learning environment.
You agree to engage respectfully with instructors, staff, students, participants, clients, community members, and other users. You may not engage in harassment, abuse, threats, discrimination, intimidation, disruption, defamation, plagiarism, intellectual property misuse, unauthorized sharing of materials, misrepresentation of credentials, or conduct that interferes with the learning experience of others.
We reserve the right to remove, suspend, or terminate any participant from a program, course, community, event, or service if we determine, in our sole discretion, that the participant’s conduct is disruptive, unsafe, unethical, unlawful, harmful, discriminatory, or inconsistent with PPI’s standards.
Confidentiality in Learning Environments
Some PPI programs may include coaching practice, peer coaching, reflective exercises, live discussion, case discussion, role play, community participation, or personal/professional sharing.
Participants are expected to respect the confidentiality and privacy of other participants, instructors, clients, and third parties. You agree not to disclose private, identifying, sensitive, or confidential information shared by other participants in a course, community, live session, or practice activity.
However, PPI cannot guarantee that other participants will maintain confidentiality. You should use discretion when sharing personal, client-related, clinical, business, or sensitive information in any group, course, community, or online setting.
You agree not to submit or disclose client-identifying information, protected health information, confidential third-party information, or sensitive personal information unless you have all necessary permissions and such disclosure is lawful, appropriate, and consistent with your professional obligations.
Intellectual Property
The Site and all content, materials, designs, text, graphics, logos, images, videos, audio recordings, course materials, downloadable resources, training frameworks, exercises, assessments, workbooks, slides, handouts, prompts, trademarks, service marks, and other intellectual property appearing on or made available through the Site are owned by or licensed to PPI and/or Unbound Education, Inc., unless otherwise stated.
All such content is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, publish, display, transmit, sell, license, create derivative works from, teach from, train from, upload to AI systems, use to train AI models, repurpose, resell, or otherwise exploit any Site or course content without our prior written permission, except as expressly permitted by these Terms or applicable law.
Participation in a course, training, certificate program, or other offering does not transfer ownership of any intellectual property to you. Materials are provided for your personal educational and professional-development use only unless PPI expressly authorizes another use in writing.
You may not share login credentials, course access, downloads, recordings, slides, transcripts, workbooks, prompts, assignments, community content, assessments, or other restricted materials with any third party.
User Content
If you submit, upload, post, or otherwise provide content to the Site, course platform, learning community, assignment portal, discussion board, live session, or related service, you represent that you have the right to do so and that your content does not violate the rights, privacy, confidentiality, or legal interests of any third party.
You retain ownership of content you submit, but you grant PPI and Unbound Education, Inc. a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute such content as reasonably necessary to operate the Site, provide services, administer programs, evaluate assignments, support course participation, maintain educational records, improve offerings, and comply with legal, contractual, credentialing, or CCE-related obligations.
Records, Evaluations, and Reporting
PPI may maintain records relating to course enrollment, attendance, completion, participation, assignments, assessments, trainee evaluations, certificates, payments, and communications.
For courses offered for CCE credential-eligibility credit, PPI may be required to maintain course and trainee records for at least five years, including rosters, presenter/author information, course descriptions, trainee evaluations, promotional materials, course materials, and learning objectives.
Where required by CCE or another credentialing body, PPI may submit course records, evaluation summaries, complaint information, or related materials in accordance with applicable policy, law, and our Privacy Policy. Unless requested by CCE, individual trainee evaluations will not be submitted to CCE.
Complaints and Dispute Resolution
PPI maintains a written complaint and dispute-resolution policy for trainee complaints and disputes related to PPI courses. Participants may submit a complaint by emailing info(AT)positivepsychology.institute with the subject line “Trainee Complaint.”
Complaints should include the participant’s name, contact information, course or program name, date of the issue, a description of the concern, relevant supporting information, and the requested resolution.
PPI will review complaints in good faith and attempt to respond within a reasonable period. Depending on the nature of the complaint, PPI may request additional information, consult relevant instructors or administrators, propose corrective action, or issue a written response.
For CCE-qualified courses, PPI may be required to report certain complaints, disputes, grievances, legal matters, or policy-related matters to CCE within time frames required by CCE policy. The CCE policy requires certain complaint matters to be reported to CCE within 60 days of initial knowledge and certain legal matters within 30 days of initial knowledge.
Payments, Refunds, and Withdrawals
Purchases, tuition payments, installment plans, refunds, cancellations, chargebacks, transfers, deferrals, course withdrawals, and related financial terms are governed by our Payment & Refund Policies and any program-specific checkout terms, refund policies, cancellation policies, enrollment agreements, or written purchase terms.
By purchasing or enrolling in any offering, you agree to the applicable payment, refund, cancellation, and withdrawal terms presented at the time of purchase or enrollment.

The Site and all content, materials, programs, courses, trainings, communities, products, and services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PPI, Unbound Education, Inc., and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, instructors, faculty, affiliates, representatives, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, exemplary, or similar damages arising out of or related to your use of the Site, participation in any program, reliance on any content, inability to access the Site or services, credentialing decisions by third parties, loss of income, loss of business opportunity, professional consequences, or participant conduct.
Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the Site, content, materials, programs, or services is to discontinue use of the Site and services, subject to applicable payment obligations and refund policies.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless PPI, Unbound Education, Inc., and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, instructors, faculty, affiliates, representatives, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or related to your use of the Site, violation of these Terms, misuse of materials, professional conduct, services you provide to clients or third parties, violation of applicable law, or infringement of any intellectual property, privacy, confidentiality, or other rights.

We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Site, course materials, programs, communities, platforms, certificates, or related services at any time, with or without notice, if we determine that you have violated these Terms, misused our materials, disrupted the learning environment, failed to meet payment obligations, acted unlawfully or unethically, violated confidentiality, misrepresented credentialing status, or engaged in conduct we deem inappropriate, unsafe, discriminatory, or harmful.
Termination of access does not relieve you of any outstanding payment obligations.
