Refund & Cancellation Policies

Last Updated: June 6, 2026

In the agreement below, “the Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our” means Positive Psychology Institute, a division of Unbound Education, Inc., a Public Benefit Corporation. “The Site” means positivepsychology.institute.

The terms “program,” “product,” “course,” “service,” “training,” “certification,” “certificate,” “membership,” “event,” “community,” or “offering” are used broadly as general terms of convenience and should not be read to exclude one another where only one term is used.

Please read these Payment & Refund Policies carefully before purchasing or enrolling in any program, product, course, service, training, certificate program, membership, event, or other offering through PPI.

By making a purchase, enrolling in a program, entering into a payment plan, or accessing any paid offering, you agree to be bound by these Payment & Refund Policies.

No Guarantee of Results, Credentialing, Certification, Licensure, Income, or CCE Acceptance

PPI makes reasonable efforts to accurately describe its programs, services, trainings, educational offerings, and intended benefits.

However, your level of success, progress, professional development, business results, income, client outcomes, personal transformation, exam performance, credentialing eligibility, certification outcome, continuing education acceptance, or professional result depends on many individual and external factors, including your education, experience, licensure, prior training, jurisdiction, credentialing pathway, professional background, natural ability, dedication, effort, motivation, attendance, completion of assignments, implementation of material, business model, market conditions, and the requirements and decisions of third-party credentialing or licensing bodies.

Because these factors differ for each individual, PPI cannot and does not guarantee any specific level of individual success, professional advancement, client growth, income, business performance, certification outcome, exam result, credentialing eligibility, continuing education acceptance, personal transformation, or other result.

PPI also cannot assume responsibility for your actions, decisions, omissions, professional conduct, business practices, coaching practice, client work, or use of the information provided.

Any forward-looking statements, examples, testimonials, case studies, success stories, participant stories, business examples, credentialing examples, or descriptions of potential outcomes appearing on the Site or in any of our programs, products, services, trainings, or other offerings are intended to express possibilities, opinions, or examples of what some participants may experience. They should not be interpreted as promises, guarantees, or representations that you will achieve the same or similar results.

YOU FULLY AGREE AND UNDERSTAND THAT YOU AND YOU ALONE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR SUCCESS OR FAILURE. PPI AND UNBOUND EDUCATION, INC. ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR SUCCESS OR FAILURE AND MAKE NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND THAT ANY PROGRAM, COURSE, SERVICE, PRODUCT, TRAINING, CERTIFICATE, CERTIFICATION PREPARATION, INFORMATION, OR OTHER OFFERING WILL PRODUCE ANY PARTICULAR RESULT FOR YOU.

CCE, BCC, and Third-Party Credentialing Responsibility

Some PPI programs may be designed to support coach training, professional development, continuing education, or preparation related to the Board Certified Coach credential administered by the Center for Credentialing & Education.

Unless expressly stated in writing by PPI and supported by current written approval from CCE or another applicable credentialing body, no PPI program, course, training, certificate, or offering is represented as CCE-approved, BCC-approved, NBCC-approved, ICF-approved, accredited, endorsed, sponsored, or guaranteed to satisfy credentialing, licensure, certification, continuing education, or application requirements.

Credentialing and continuing education requirements may change at any time. Requirements may vary based on your degree, licensure, jurisdiction, professional background, prior training, coaching experience, credentialing pathway, application timing, and the policies of the applicable credentialing body.

You are solely responsible for confirming current CCE, BCC, licensing, certification, credentialing, continuing education, and professional requirements before enrolling, purchasing, relying on, or submitting any PPI program for credit, eligibility, or approval.

PPI does not control and is not responsible for decisions made by CCE, BCC, NBCC, ICF, licensing boards, employers, professional associations, educational institutions, or any other third-party organization.

No refund will be issued solely because a third-party credentialing, licensing, certification, continuing education, employer, or professional body declines to accept, approve, recognize, or apply a PPI program, certificate, training hour, course, or material unless a contrary refund right is expressly stated in writing in the applicable program-specific terms.

Refund Policy

All sales of programs, products, courses, services, trainings, certificate programs, memberships, information products, digital materials, downloadable resources, events, communities, and any other offering through PPI are final unless specifically stated otherwise.

NO REFUNDS ARE AVAILABLE UNLESS A DIFFERENT REFUND POLICY IS EXPRESSLY STATED ON THE APPLICABLE PROGRAM SALES PAGE, CHECKOUT PAGE, ENROLLMENT AGREEMENT, OR WRITTEN PURCHASE TERMS. PLEASE CONSIDER THIS CAREFULLY BEFORE MAKING YOUR PURCHASE.

If a specific program, course, event, training, certificate program, or offering includes a separate refund, cancellation, transfer, deferral, guarantee, credit, or withdrawal policy, that program-specific written policy will govern that particular purchase.

Refunds are not available because you changed your mind, did not attend, did not complete the program, failed to access the materials, did not use the materials, were dissatisfied with your own level of participation, did not obtain a desired result, did not obtain credentialing approval, did not pass an exam, did not receive continuing education acceptance, missed course deadlines, failed to complete assignments, or later determined that the program was not suitable for your personal, professional, business, credentialing, or licensing goals, unless otherwise expressly stated in writing.

Course Withdrawal Policy

You may withdraw from a course or program by sending written notice to info(AT)positivepsychology.institute with the subject line “Course Withdrawal.”

Withdrawal means that you are choosing not to continue participating in the course or program. Withdrawal does not automatically entitle you to a refund, release you from payment obligations, or transfer you into a later cohort unless such rights are expressly stated in the applicable program-specific written terms or approved by PPI in writing.

If a program-specific withdrawal deadline, deferral option, credit option, or refund schedule is provided on the sales page, checkout page, enrollment agreement, or written purchase terms, that program-specific policy controls.

PPI may administratively withdraw a participant from a course or program for nonpayment, violation of these policies, violation of participant conduct expectations, unauthorized sharing of materials, or other conduct inconsistent with PPI’s standards. Administrative withdrawal does not relieve the participant of outstanding payment obligations.

Responsibility for Payments

For some programs, courses, services, trainings, memberships, or offerings, payment plans may be made available.

When you enter into a payment plan with PPI, you are making a commitment to pay the full stated amount in exchange for access to the program, participation in the course, use of materials, enrollment privileges, or other services, information, or benefits.

A payment plan is not a subscription that may be canceled at will unless expressly stated otherwise in writing. By entering into a payment plan, you acknowledge and agree that the entire fee is due and payable, even if you choose not to participate, stop attending, fail to complete the program, do not use the materials, do not obtain a desired result, do not qualify for a credential, fail an exam, or decide that the offering is no longer right for you.

If any payment is not made in a timely manner for any reason, PPI may suspend participation, revoke access to course materials, restrict access to the learning platform, pause certificate or completion eligibility, withhold completion documentation, remove community access, or otherwise limit access until the account is brought current.

You remain responsible for all amounts due under your payment plan, including missed, declined, disputed, reversed, or failed payments.

Failed Payments, Collections, and Access Suspension

If a scheduled payment fails, is declined, is reversed, or is otherwise not received, we may attempt to reprocess the payment using the payment method on file, contact you for updated payment information, suspend access, or take other lawful steps to collect amounts owed.

You agree to keep your payment information current and to notify us promptly if your payment method changes.

You are responsible for any reasonable costs associated with collection of unpaid amounts, to the extent permitted by law.

Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

If you dispute a valid charge, initiate a chargeback, reverse a payment, or otherwise attempt to avoid payment for an amount properly owed under these policies, PPI reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to programs, materials, communities, certificates, events, and other services while the matter is reviewed.

You agree to contact us first using the information below before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute so that we may attempt to resolve the matter directly.

Chargebacks or payment disputes do not cancel your payment obligations unless the dispute is resolved in your favor by the applicable payment processor, card issuer, court, or by written agreement with PPI.

Transfers, Deferrals, Substitutions, and Credits

Transfers, deferrals, substitutions, or credits for future programs are not guaranteed and are available only if expressly stated in the applicable program terms or approved by PPI in writing.

Any approved transfer, deferral, substitution, or credit may be subject to administrative requirements, deadlines, availability, price differences, expiration dates, or additional terms.

Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, and may not be applied retroactively.

Certificates of Completion

Where applicable, PPI may issue certificates of completion, attendance, participation, or training. A certificate of completion indicates only that the participant satisfied the completion criteria established by PPI for that specific program.

A certificate of completion is not a license, professional credential, government authorization, CCE/BCC credential, board certification, or guarantee of eligibility for any third-party certification, examination, continuing education credit, employment opportunity, or professional designation unless expressly stated in writing and supported by current approval from the applicable authority.

PPI may withhold certificates or completion documentation if a participant has not satisfied attendance, participation, assessment, trainee evaluation, payment, conduct, or other program-completion requirements.

Complaints and Disputes

Participants with complaints or disputes related to a PPI course, program, fee, refund, withdrawal, access issue, instructor, completion requirement, or other course-related matter should email info(AT)positivepsychology.institute with the subject line “Trainee Complaint.”

The complaint should include the participant’s name, contact information, course or program name, date of the issue, a description of the concern, relevant supporting information, and the requested resolution.

PPI will review complaints in good faith and attempt to respond within a reasonable period of time. PPI may request additional information, consult relevant instructors or administrators, propose corrective action, or issue a written response.

For CCE-qualified courses, PPI may be required to report certain complaints, disputes, grievances, or legal matters to CCE in accordance with applicable CCE policy.

Termination

PPI is committed to providing a respectful, productive, ethical, and effective learning environment.

PPI may, at its sole discretion, limit, suspend, administratively withdraw, or terminate the right of any participant, customer, or client to access any program, course, community, service, event, platform, or materials without refund if that individual becomes disruptive, abusive, threatening, unethical, difficult to work with, fails to follow established guidelines or policies, violates intellectual property rights, shares login credentials or restricted materials, fails to meet payment obligations, misrepresents credentialing status, violates confidentiality, or displays behavior that impairs the ability of other participants to learn or faculty, staff, or employees to conduct the program.

Termination of access does not relieve you of any outstanding payment obligations.

Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Changes to This Agreement

PPI reserves the right to modify these Payment & Refund Policies at any time. We may do so by posting updated policies on the Site or by making updated policies available through checkout pages, order forms, enrollment agreements, or other purchase-related materials.

Your decision to purchase any program, product, course, service, training, certificate program, membership, event, or other offering, or to continue accessing or using any paid offering after such changes have been posted, constitutes your acceptance of the revised Payment & Refund Policies.
